Kasumi Yoshizawa is one of the most prominent additions introduced in Persona 5 Royal, bringing fresh story arcs and unique combat abilities to the Phantom Thieves. Finding and unlocking her confidant path requires players to progress through key story beats while keeping track of her unique availability. Understanding where she appears and how to advance her bond is essential for players aiming to experience her full story potential.
How to Unlock Kasumi's Confidant Arc
Kasumi's Faith Confidant automatically initiates on May 30th during a mandatory school event at Shujin Academy. After this introduction, Joker can begin spending free time with her to deepen their friendship. Players should prioritize meeting her whenever she reaches out to ensure steady progression throughout the academic year.
Where to Find Kasumi in Tokyo
When she is available during daytime hours, Kasumi can usually be found near the entrance of the Kichijoji Promenade. Her hangout schedule is notoriously irregular compared to other confidants, though she frequently appears on Wednesdays. Checking Joker's phone for direct text invitations is often the most reliable way to catch her free days.
Managing the Rank Limit and Important Deadlines
Unlike standard confidants who feature ten initial ranks, Kasumi's link is capped at Rank 5 for the majority of the base campaign. Players must reach Rank 5 before December 22nd to preserve her storyline and secure access to her later abilities. Meeting this strict deadline ensures her confidant arc smoothly transitions into the expanded story content.
Unlocking Kasumi as a Fully Playable Party Member
To fully unlock Kasumi as a playable combatant and access ranks 6 through 10, players must successfully reach the game's third semester. Securing this third semester requires maxing Dr. Maruki's Councilor Confidant to Rank 9 before mid-November. Once the new storyline begins in January, Kasumi formally joins the active team and unlocks her remaining confidant events.
